How much money do I need to stay in Chile for 10 days?

I’m planning to go to Chile during the summer of 2008, for about 10 days. I wanted to know how much money I should consider taking with me?
Bear in mind that I’m gonna be staying over at a friend’s house.

   Allow say $50.00 a day. This should cover local travel and food etc. Allow more if you want to buy more stuff.

   As you are not going to need money to pay lodging, it all depens on what you are planning to do. As in most countries of the world, there are expensive and cheap shops, restaurants, et. Using taxis is not expensive to move around. If you want to visit other cities like Viña del Mar, then it all depends on how you want to travel there (buses are not expensive) and if you want to stay, where you will chose. As you can see, is all depends on your budget.
